As you will be aware, we have a public holiday to look forward to this coming Tuesday 9th September to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival. For our students and staff this is always a particularly popular event to celebrate and I am sure that this year will prove no exception.
We would encourage you, however, to talk with your children about their safety if they are going out to enjoy the festivities on Monday evening. Amongst a variety of venues, the beaches on the south side of Hong Kong Island are popular destinations and ones where alcohol will be readily available. Unfortunately, in recent years this has resulted in a celebratory night out ending very badly for some of our teenagers.
Our advice to you, therefore, is to talk with your children about the evening ahead: know where they will be; keep lines of communication open and discuss how they act responsibly whilst still having fun. We too will be asking Form Tutors to advise students on the matter.
Thank you for your support and I wish you and your families a very enjoyable Mid-Autumn Festival.
