On the 21st of November, students across the lower school put their efforts together and took part in the 24-Minute Race. Following the students race, the teachers took part in a shorter event of their own. For the entire course of lunchtime, other students were cheering their peers as they ran and raised awareness for the human trafficking movement. Organised by the Island School Social Justice team, the event was created in an attempt to support and bring attention to the Running to Stop the Traffik charity.
After 24 minutes of grueling running, the Wilberforce y7-10 team finished first, with over 25 laps run, shortly followed by the Da Vinci team and then Nansen.
We would like to thank all those who participated, specifically to all the teachers who gave up their own time and encouraged students to get involved.
