On 21 January 2015, Island School hosted ESF’s biggest University Fair to date where representatives from 152 institutions from all over the world engaged with ESF Year 12 students. As a keystone event for students in their university research process, this year’s fair offered diverse opportunities that served both our IB and Applied Learning streams very well.
A full range of UK Education was available for students – from Russell Group such as UCL, Kings, and Durham to universities that focus on developing vocational and specialised aspirations, such as Leeds College of Music, Hult Business School and Art universities and colleges like Falmouth University.
We continued to expand our close links with US colleges and alumni networks by having 34 US colleges at the fair.
Hong Kong continues to be a strong destination of choice for our students so we were delighted with the growth in options that spanned a range of academic backgrounds and interests. We had universities such as Hong Kong University, Chinese University and HKUST, as well as newer options like Centennial College and SCAD.
There was an overall enhanced representation of Asia and Europe at the fair as well. We had universities from Singapore, Japan, Korea, China, Israel, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands that discussed their English medium courses with our students. To name a few, some new participating institutions include National University of Singapore and University of Tilburg.
Students also got the chance to talk with representatives of Hospitality schools from all over the world such as EHL, Glion, Les Roches, ICHM and Blue Mountains.
Congratulations to our HE Department for organising this very successful event for ESF students who were able to network and interact with those who will look at their applications, leading to potential offers.
