Island School Chinese Website

Dear Y7 parents,

On Tuesday 10th March there will be an exciting morning of activities for Year 7 students as part of their Island Time programme. The event is organised with the English Faculty and kindly funded by the ISPTA. Activities are centred on the visit of the author Marcus Alexander (http://whoischarliekeeper.com/) and the art forms which inspire his work.

There will be:

  • A presentation by Marcus Alexander
  • A Creative Writing workshop run by Marcus Alexander
  • An Urban Art workshop run by http://www.streetpoppy.org/
  • An introduction to Parkour by http://www.jumperzparkour.com/ , a group who have run very successful activities at South Island School, Discovery College and Shatin College.
  • A PE session run by our PE staff

In the afternoon there will be book signing in the library – please see the attached letter and book order form which was sent out before Chinese New year.

Students do NOT need to wear school uniform or sports uniform on this day. Instead, they will need to wear loose sports clothing (i.e. shorts and t-shirts) and sports shoes. The paint used in the Urban Art workshop will come out of most clothes but there is a possibility that some paint will not come out immediately so old clothes are recommended.

If you have any queries please contact me by email.

Best regards,

Julian Reed

Co-ordinator of the Island Time programme.
