In an evening of music and dance students from all years performed songs from the last 4 decades celebrating the time span of Island School’s campus on 11th March.
Rocking through the decades students performed music from The Beatles, Les Miserables and Adele’s Skyfall. Various groups performed, including the Wind Band, Senior String Group, Chamber Choir, Year 7 Training Choir and House Band.
Music Teacher Jo-Anne Trevenna said: “The evening was met warmly by the audience who seemed to enjoy the variety and contrast within the programme. It was lovely to see the newly formed Wind Band, under the baton of Rachel Thomas, our new brass teacher.”
“There was a notable performance from Jonathan Fan, Jimin Lee and Priscilla Lee who performed an medley in Cantonese, Korean and Mandarin.”
“The evening was enhanced by a wonderful backdrop of screen prints depicting iconic images from the last 4 decades. Thanks to Abi Eustace and Bethan Clark for their work with the Arts Elements course.”
“Thank you too to Teri Eves for her work on choreography – this added a vibrant and exciting feel to the evening.”
“Thanks to the many staff who helped to
make this wonderful showcase of music at Island School possible.”
