Year 10 students spent Tuesday 21st April using data modelling tools to tackle real world problems.  On Modelling Day teams of students developed mathematical functions that could answer questions such as; how much wire is needed in the construction of the Tsing Ma Bridge? Or is a third runway at Hong Kong Airport necessary? Students used regression analysis tools to manipulate a model to fit the real life data.

Naresh Rodrigo: “We use different software; The Casio GDC, Autograph and Excel. Some of the groups’ outcomes were presented, they explained their scenario and how well each model worked with their problem, finally they reflected on the day.”
