It came as great relief to the Island School community that the students at Katja House are safe after the recent earthquake and subsequent tremors. In addition it has been confirmed that the older students living in hostels, but still under the umbrella of the Katja Foundation, are safe. Further, all the staff who work at Katja house are safe. The Katja building itself has suffered some minor structural damage and the homes of some of the Katja House employees were destroyed. In the following days and weeks the school will be raising funds and supplies to support the relief work in Nepal . Details will be posted on the school website. In addition Einstein House will be raising funds to support those in the Katja community who require assistance.
