The Selkie a folk tale about a sea creature from the Orkney Islands has provoked this year’s Elements students into thinking as artists, musicians, photographers and performers. Mhairi MacInnes Head of Creativity and Curriculum Leader for Creative Arts said: “The story of a creature who can change it skin was the starting point for this project and it generated areas of investigation and collaborative, creative responses from the students.” To celebrate the diverse student projects, parents are being invited to view their work on Wednesday 17th June, 6-8:30pm. The evening will take the form of a walk around through various areas of the school to see the performances, exhibitions, films and installations. There will be two start time with the walk a rounds beginning at 6:30 and 7:30.
Refreshments will be provided by Mr Lord’s kitchen students! Here is a glimpse of the thinking process.
