Dear Y8 Students and Parents,
As you are all new to the procedure of signing up for Quest Week Options (which is happening very soon) I thought it would be a good idea to let you know what the procedure is.
Hopefully by now, you will know that the website which contains all the information, costs and sample itineraries for Quest Week 2016 is now open for viewing. For students, this can be accessed via the Isle by following the tab “Student” and then selecting “Quest Week” from the drop down menu. Parents can access the site on the Parent Portal under the “General Information” tab and then selecting “Quest Week” from the drop down menu or from the Island School website by following the “Life at IS” tab selecting “Quest Week” from the drop down menu. It can also be accessed via the link below –
You have been asked to have a good look at what is available and what interests you. It is very important that students talk this through with your parents as well as your friends – because we know how important that is to most of you!
Information about the dates/times of the sign-up process are on the Quest Week website under “Choosing Options Process”, under “Quest Week Info” at the top of the home page. There is also information about “Choosing wisely” and “Being away from home”.
It is very important that before the options open for choosing; you know what your Gateway log-in is and that you double check that it works. You will need to do this in order to be able to make your selection.
Once on the Gateway web site, you need to click on:
1.) Activities (in black next to ARR)
2.) Activity in that pull-down menu.
3.) Select Quest Week 2016 from the Blue tab at the top of the page.
4.) Then you should be able to make your selection, once the system is ‘live’.
5.) Once the option is full, you will get a “no quota” message if you continue to try to get in. You then need to select something else.
6.) Whilst the system is open, you may change your option, but you must ‘withdraw’ from your chosen option before you can select another.
The system will be open to Y’s 8 to Y10 on Saturday 12th March at 9:00am and it will close on Sunday 13th March at 10:00pm. The options are filled on a first come – first served basis and they also have pre-set maximums. Once they are full, you will not be able to add your name, and so will have to consider an alternative option.
If you have any difficulties with logging-in to the Gateway, please go to room 143 before Saturday 12thMarch to ask for help.
Mr. Derek Bailey & Sasha James
